Even softer covered balls like the Pro V1 or B330 are tough to cut or penetrate the cover due to mishits. But I think Jack was right to some extent, the golf ball needs to be governed a little more than it has been.&lt;BR/&gt;Just recently the USGA passed new guidelines that would reduce the amount of spin a wedge can create, making all current wedges illegal to use in professional tournaments starting in 2010. Changing the rules that will affect all players because a small minority who get paid to play the game benefit from the current standards? If there was a 'Tournament Ball' like Mr. Nicklaus suggested, this new wedge rule would have never been enacted.
